A collaboration tool for Information Technology professionals serving all levels of government throughout the state of Michigan; includes discussions, standards, best practices, and collaborative opportunities.
At the October 2006 Michigan Digital Government Summit, several government technology professionals throughout the state indicated an interest in participating in an online information sharing network for eGovernment technology solutions.
The goal is simple – build a better Michigan for all. Here at Oakland County, under the leadership of L. Brooks Patterson, County Executive, we’ve been blessed with opportunities to develop many cutting edge technologies, and we seek to share those systems and experiences with the rest of the state. We all stand to benefit from collaboration and partnerships, and hope this is one way in which we can communicate ideas and solutions.
If you have a particular area of expertise to focus on, by all means please feel free to make one of the categories “your own” by posting your experiences and links back to your government’s web site to any relevant documents or other information. You’ll see many categories have already been created. Those are designed to give us a starting point.
Please include your name and contact info as well.
We have already posted some information on several of our projects (see posts). In the next several weeks we will be adding more information and resources, as well as links to best practices, guides, white papers and more. We also have posted some “blog” entries related to using the blog and other frequently asked questions about its use. See the "About" category for these posts.
If you are reading this site because you stumbled across it, or someone told you about it, please send an e-mail to S.J. for more information and/or participation information. Also please feel free to send comments and feedback so we can truly make this a useful resource for everyone.
